The Perfect Addition to Your Skincare Cocktail - DRUNK ELEPHANT Protini™ Polypeptide Cream
I did not think it was possible for me to fall even more #drunkinlove with another Drunk Elephant product but behold DRUNK ELEPHANT Protini™ Polypeptide Cream. This product has quickly become a must have covetable addition to my skincare cocktail. Keep reading for all the details on why you should get your hands on it.
What Is It?
Drunk Elephant Founder Tiffany Masterson explains that she “wanted a different kind of moisturizer that would do the same for my collagen—help support, maintain, and possibly prevent the breakdown of existing.” And that this moisturizer is “Jam-packed with crazy levels of amino acids, signal peptides, and safe, synthetic growth factors (the good kind), this dreamy cream melts right into your skin to make it hydrated, bouncy, and balanced.”
Also, just a little reminder about DE products if you have not read my previous Drunk Elephant Article (which you should – click here) you won’t find silicones, chemical sunscreens, sensitizing dyes, perfumes, or fragrant essential oils of any kind in their products, making them appropriate for every skin type.

First Impression
From the moment I saw the picture of the new container peeking out from behind a curtain on Drunk Elephants Instagram page it was a “ you had me at hello” moment. I was intrigued by its promise of a formulation that possessed an “unprecedented array and concentration of actives” Filled with signal peptides, growth factors, supportive amino acids, and pygmy waterlily extract. It promised to deliver “younger, revived-looking skin, almost from the first application.” – SIGN. ME. UP.
Application Reflection
It felt smooth and had a gel-like in consistency. As a I smoothed it across my skin I was amazed at how soft it felt and how readily is soaked into my skin. It was not greasy and did not leave my pores feeling clogged. Right from my first application it improved my tone and texture of skin immediately. It is definitely lighter than my much loved DRUNK ELEPHANT Lala Retro™ Whipped Cream.
If you are concerned about the price - please don’t be for some of the following reasons. The product lasts a long time and the ingredients maintain their effectiveness due to the airtight packaging (one of my favorite things about DE products), the jar itself produces enough premeasuring in what it dispenses to eliminate wasted product.
I typically get 3-4 months out of one jar with daily use. Which breaks down to less than $2.00 a day for great luminous and healthy skin. This in turn lessens the cost of makeup products to make my skin appear as healthy as one moisturizer can make it (So really there are dollars to be saved in the long run.) It is definitely money well spent.
I have said it before, but this skin care line is by far the best skin care I have ever used and I was fortunate enough to be raised on high end, spa & esthetician approved products from my aunts. It is the first line that has improved my skin so dramatically that I wear little to no other makeup or face products on a daily basis. My skin has such a strong, healthy revitalized appearance that I feel it truly needs nothing else.

Final Thoughts
I am a loyal and dedicated Drunk Elephant consumer as their products JUST WORK. They do exactly what they say they will, are thoughtful in their ingredient choices and are beyond innovative in the creation of their products for the most fundamental skincare needs.
Like I said, I did not think it was possible to fall in love with another moisturizer more than my DE La-La Retro but this has brought my skincare routine to a whole new level, It truly is the protein shot I needed to make my skin feel and look fantastic from the inside out. I have since started combining it with my LaLa Retro and also layer it on top of my DRUNK ELEPHANT T.L.C. Framboos™ Glycolic Night Serum. It has increased my skins level of hydration and keeps my skin feeling healthy, hydrated and nourished. My skin feels stronger than ever while using this moisturizer. It really does help to make my skin look smooth, firm, plump, youthful and positively glowing - All beautiful things.
