Something I Call Personality - MAC Girls Personality Palette in Prissy Princess

IMG_7498.JPG

I have been a MAC Lover from a very young age. From the first swipe of that mac bullet lipstick I was hooked and have been vying for their limited edition collections and hoarding my cult classic fave products ( I’m looking at you black track liner and painterly paint pot) ever since.

So in 2017 when MAC announced they would be releasing a series of Personality Palettes featuring eight Eye Shadows and one Highlighter for $39.50 USD or $48.00 CAD (for an approx.. $160 value) I knew I had to have one. There were 6 featured palettes released (and still available): Basic Bitch, Mischief Minx, Fashion Fanatic, Rockin Rebel and Power Hungry and my purchase ... Prissy Princess (find it here.) For the whole collection click here.

They took the internet and blogosphere by storm pre-release, and I have been enjoying mine ever since. Therefore, when I heard three new girls - Qween Supreme, Classic Cutie and Risk Taker would be added to the collection this Spring I thought it was no better time to give you all the details on my chosen Prissy Princess Palette.  These palettes are not only fun ways to express your inner personality, but are a great travel companion and lovely addition to your makeup arsenal.

Like the MAC Description itself this palette is not fussy – just fancy! It is a perfectly prim and proper palette filled with cool-toned neutrals and pinks.

Eyeshadow Formulas: Satin Shine, Smooth Pearl, Foil and Creamy Matte
Highlighter Formula:  Opalescent

Shade Descriptions
Colour Me Spoiled: Very light pink (Creamy Matte)
Sweet Tart: Shimmery pale pink (Satin Shine)
Prissy Princess: Shell grey (Creamy Matte)
Spoil Yourself: Dark brown (Creamy Matte)
Eternal Optimist: Shimmery cool brown (Satin Shine)
Too Good To Be True: Cool midtone brown with silver pearl (Foil)
Fabness: Taupe grey (Smooth Pearl)
Good Girl & U Know It: Greyed neutral brown (Satin Shine)
She's A Rainbow: Rose pink with silver highlighter (Opalescent)

This palette is the perfect everyday palette. All the shades deliver a creamy and silky texture although some with better colour payoff than others. If I had to pick a favorite shade I would definitely have to say the She’s A Rainbow highlighter. It has this perfect barely there sheen which makes it stunning for an everyday wearable glow. I even use mine on its own all over the lid for a minimalist look – just add mascara and you’re good to go. It truly does as promised deliver the “right amount of pearl and pop”.

My least favorite shade would be the Sweet Tart as it just does not pack as much punch with its colour payoff as I wish it would for what I hoped would be a beautiful brow bone and transition shade. The greys and browns in this palette are cool toned and subtly stunning. They blend like a dream and form soft dreamy eye looks that are indeed fit for a princess.

My go to looks are typically a combination of the creamy mattes and satin shine formulas. They simply pair and blend beautifully together with the slightest effort.

Overall Thoughts
I think these palettes are beautiful for a MAC Enthusiast or a MAC Beginner.  So go ahead find the personality palette that speaks to you and get glamming. I know I will.
