Behind the Beauty … Experiencing BEAUTYLISH

Nice Thing # 45 & # 47

Tired of scouring the same old websites for all your beauty needs? Disillusioned by lack of quality images to make your selections and dissatisfied with their customer service? So was I.  The answer? Behold BEAUTYLISH !

Once again, after watching a few too many youtube beauty videos I saw a link for the website Beautylish.com and my world was changed.  I thought I would share with you a little bit behind the brand, my first ordering experience and why I’ve come to love this company overnight.

Who Are They?
Beautylish was founded in the fall of 2010 and they launched their online boutique in 2012. They state that their purpose is to “create a community where beauty lovers could share their collective beauty wisdom.” (Okay, so they had me intrigued…)

In their story they explain that they “feel that the world is not short of beauty products, stores, or stories, but somewhere along the way, it became short of specialness. Beautylish exists to find exceptional products, tell the inspiring stories behind them, and deliver them with thoughtfulness. We believe an amazing customer experience is driven by a personal relationship with our customers.”

A powerful message that I could definitely get behind so I started to explore…

The Site
The website itself is easy to navigate, product lines and types were easy to search and the selection was spectacular. I was especially impressed with the product photos – swatches were glowingly displayed alongside elaborate descriptions within shade selection menus.

The Order
After I had carefully selected my items and filled my cart I proceeded through the checkout process and was very excited to see that there was “Free shipping on all orders over $35 USD in Canada!” which is relatively unheard of with international shipping.
They also have something called “Flexible Payments” for orders of over $50.00 or more – pretty amazing and worth looking into if you are placing a large order.

The Experience
After my purchase I received a lovely email from Beautylish regarding their receipt of my order and telling me more about the company – what a thoughtful gesture.  I was especially appreciative of the sentence:
“ps... I know it’s not ideal to order from the U.S. so thank you for trusting us. We’re working hard to improve shipping, customer service and currency conversion for Canada to improve our experience so stay tuned!”
Just the fact that this was mentioned made me truly feel like a valued customer.

The Shipping
The shipping did take awhile (blame international shipping – Canada seems to take forever) However, tracking the shipping was practically effortless- you just login to your account (if you have one) view your previous orders and the tracking details are readily accessible, so I knew exactly what stage my package was at every step of the way.

The Arrival
The arrival was worth the wait…

When I opened the package I could not believe my eyes – I was astonished by the marking on the inside of the cardboard box that said packaged with love in San Francisco with an employees signature. What a wonderful addition knowing someone took enough care to sign their name to it. Also, I’m pretty sure I could live in their warehouse aka the Beautylish YACHT CLUB
(I looked it up on the website and it looks incredible – check it out here).

Each item was carefully wrapped and lovingly displayed in my box. It was obvious to me that this company takes immense pride in providing great customer service and showcase the products in a loving and respectful way. My package truly felt like a gift.  I also appreciated the thoughtful note card that accompanied my package.

What's Nice About It?

Everything... If this experience is any indication of the future (and to quote Casablanca) I think this is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

I will definitely be repurchasing from BEAUTYLISH for a very long time and I am also very much looking forward to purchasing the 2018 Lucky Bag.
